First Impression: The Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

First Impression: The Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

Usually first impressions of products don’t change, which is why these posts are so beneficial.  If you love or hate a product at first use, odds are your opinion won’t stray too much.

In this palette you get 18 shades, 6 mattes and 12 shimmers.  The shades in the palette are defined as beautiful peaches, vibrant purples, and rich bronzes.  It contains a mixture of cool, neutral, and warm shades, what more could you want?!

My first encounter with this palette was at Ulta.  I was immediately attracted to the colors because of how different they were.  The majority of the palettes I own contain neutrals, smoky, or cooler toned shades.  This palette, on the other hand, had exciting colors that I knew I needed to test out and incorporate into my collection.  The peach shades are so flattering and provide the perfect pop of color.

This palette will be perfect in the spring and summer seasons due to the bright pinks and peaches.  I’m not going to lie, the one shade I was drawn to and knew I needed was the olive shade called “Bless Her Heart.”  Oh my lanta, this shade is beautiful.  My favorite look to do with this palette is to pack that color on my lid and use the warm, orangey shades in the crease.  To achieve this I mix the shades Puree and Summer Yum.

Let’s start with one of the most appealing qualities of the palette, the smell (heart-eyes emoji):

Let me start off by saying the palette smells AMAZING!!! To me, it smells more like Laffy Taffy candy than peaches.  If you’re sensitive to smells, don’t worry, the smell doesn’t linger after you apply it to your eyes (even though I wouldn’t mind if it did).

Quality of shadows:

First off, let’s start with the shimmers since they are a majority of the palette (totally fine with that too).  I tend to prefer shadows that are buttery, creamy, and pigmented.  I love when my shimmery shades have a wet appearance.  The shimmers in this palette are everything.  They are extremely pigmented.  One swipe and you’re golden.  They also have zero fallout.  Once you pack them on the eyelid, they are there to stay.  My favorite way to apply them is with my fingers.

On to the matte shades…  I hate hate hate when my matte shades have a dry, chalky feeling because that results in a lack of pigmentation and a patchy appearance.  I was slightly worried about this with this palette because the shadows appear to be chalky.  However, once you put them on your eyes, they blend like a dream and in no time.  Often times, shadows that are chalky will take longer to blend out, but when I started blending the mattes in my crease, they took half the time to blend as some of my other palettes so a big check in the blendability column.

BUT, there’s a caveat, as you can see from the swatches, the darker shades Tempting, Delectable, and Talk Derby to Me are slightly patchy and need to be layered to get the same initial pigmentation as the others, but like I mentioned above they don’t appear that way on the eyes since you will be using a light hand to begin with.

Here are the shades swatched with no primer:

Favorite shadows in the palette are: Luscious, Just Peachy, Bless Her Heart, Charmed I’m Sure, Cobbler, Bellini, Peach Pit, Peaches ‘N Cream, Georgia, Caramelized, Puree, and Summer Yum.  These are BEAUTIFUL!  This palette inspires me to create different looks that I wouldn’t normally gravitate towards.

Palette Report Card:

Drum roll please….

BLENDABILITY: A+

PIGMENTATION: B (The shimmers receive a strong A and the mattes are a mixture of quality so B- for them)

VERSATILITY: A+ (The number of looks available in this palette are endless)

Overall I’d 100% recommend this palette.  It is unique and unlike any palette I own.  It is absolutely stunning.
