Review of Lorac’s “I Love Brunch PRO Palette”

When Lorac released this palette, we immediately knew we had to get our hands on it to figure out if it is worth your money or not.  This palette may not be your everyday neutrals staple palette.  However, if you are a lover of eyeshadow palettes like us, then this palette should definitely be on your radar.

Starting with the price tag, The I Love Brunch Pro Palette retails at Ulta for $44.00.  Like usual, I purchased this palette during the 20% off platinum sale and used a majority of my reward points.  This palette comes as a “kit” with a dual-sided brush, similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills brush that comes with the Modern Renaissance Palette ($42.00).  BUT, I actually prefer the Lorac brush.  It is softer and blends shadows better in my opinion.  The ABH brush is actually a little scratchy.  In this “kit” you will also receive an eyeshadow primer.  The Lorac eyeshadow primer is actually one of my favorites.  After using this product, the shadow sticks to the eye like glue after and leaves the eyes looking flawless.

First Impression: When I first saw this palette on Ulta’s website, I was instantly inspired.  I loved how different the palette was especially from the warm toned palettes that are currently taking over the market.  Don’t get me wrong, I love those palettes, but the Brunch Palette is unique, and I even dare to say one-of-a-kind.  If you’re looking to add something fun and new to your collection, this is definitely a palette I would consider.

At first, I’m not going to lie, I was apprehensive if I would be able to create an entire look with this palette when simply looking at the online picture.  When reviewing products for you guys, I am looking for a palette that you are able to do it all with.  Stay tuned to see if you can. 🙂

When this palette arrived at my door, I was a little taken back by the size of the palette.  I imagined it as being similar to the size of the Mega Pro 3, but it’s about half the size.  But, the eyeshadows are still a decent size and don’t look small within the packaging.

Packaging:  Guys if you are in love with holographic anything — buy this palette.  The entire packaging is holographic — from lid to back to the shadow pans.  Lorac never fails to impress me with their attention to detail.  Get this — the word “Lorac” on the brush and the plastic shadow sleeve are even Holographic.  Now, if you own the Lorac Mega Pro 3, you may be a little apprehensive when seeing the white packaging because it is almost impossible to keep clean.  However, although the Brunch palette is also white, it is not made of the same material so it stays nice and clean.

Quality of Shadows:  As I’m sure you guys already know, Lorac produces my absolute favorite eyeshadow formula.  This palette is no different.  The shadows are buttery and pigmented.  The only differences are that this palette has less fallout than normal Lorac palettes, which leads me to question if they are changing something in this formula and the extreme pigmentation.  These shadows also aren’t overly pigmented, which I think is a plus when working with bright pastel shades.  Now you ask, can this palette be used to create a complete look?  Yes!  I love to use Sorbet, Mimosa, and Hot Sauce as crease shades.  I pretty much always use Sorbet in the crease because it’s a beautiful transition shade.  Under the brow bone and for an inner corner highlight I LOVE Gluten Free.  I pretty much use this shade for all of my looks lately regardless of the palette I’m using.  Pancakes and Moonlight are also beautiful for that purpose.  For the lid you could literally use any shade in the palette.  My favorites are Sunday Funday, Eggs Benny, or Smoothie.  Online and in the pan, the shadows look a lot more intense than they are when applying them to the eyes.  They are very wearable!  The only shade that is for the daring is Avocado Toast.

P.S. I cannot get over how adorable these names are — makes me love Lorac that much more.

Don’t get intimidated by this palette. It’s absolutely beautiful and would be perfect for spring.  Add a little color and life to your looks!  Pastels seems to be a trend on the rise so if you’re looking for something to partake in that then give this palette a try!

Palette Report Card

Blendability: A+

Like all Lorac shadows, they blend like a dream without blending into nothing.

Pigmentation: B+

The only reason I gave this palette a B+ instead of an A is that if you’re looking for shadows that will blow your mind with the pigmentation then this isn’t it.  But in my opinion, this palette would be a dud if it was because these shadows would become overwhelming.  Don’t get me wrong the pigmentation is absolutely amazing and a little goes a long way, but it’s not overwhelming and impossible to blend out.

Versatility:  C

This palette will not be your everyday neutrals go-to palette.  It is full of fun pastels.  But they are still wearable!  Again, don’t be afraid of the shades!  They will make the perfect addition to any spring looks!  When looking at the shadows individually, most of them are daily wearable.  There are only four that are bright and a little cray in the best way possible.  The reason I rated this palette a C is not because I think it is a bad palette because obviously I love it.  However, it is not your neutrals and probably won’t be your go to travel such as a palette like the Lorac Mega Pros or the ABH Modern Renaissance.

Packaging: A+++

They thought of it all with this palette.  It is holographic and amazing.  Lorac never disappoints with the beautiful packaging.  The palette is also travel friendly if you so decide to have some fun with your looks while traveling.  I personally think this palette would be beautiful for vacation looks!

Final Verdict:  If you want a change or a pop of fun to your palette collection then please give this one a shot.  The quality is amazing in terms of pigmentation, packaging, and blendability.  Don’t let the few bright colors scare you, instead make it a goal to try them out by incorporating them into your eyeshadow routine.  This palette is perfect if you are looking for the perfect spring, summer, vacation, or a trip to brunch palette!

This looks like something I’d be interested in especially now that spring is here. The bright colors are intimidating but nothing I can’t experiment with. Love the page!
